Placement Rock Strangers
26.04.12
Ostend has been given the privilege of hosting the artist Arne Quinze! As part of Beaufort04, the ‘Rock Strangers’ work of art will be given a permanent place on the refurbished ‘Zeeheldenplein’ (Heroes of the Sea Square). On 30 June 2012, the ‘Zeeheldenplein’ (Heroes of the Sea Square) will be festively inaugurated with performances, animation and a fireworks display. Beaufort04 will coincide with Arne Quinze’s exhibition: ‘Cities like open-air museums’ from 9 June up to and including 11 November 2012 in the Venetian Galleries.
The positioning of the ‘Rock Strangers’ work of art on the ‘Zeeheldenplein’ (Heroes of the Sea Square) has been scheduled to take place on the following dates: 3 May, 15 May, 22 May and 30 May. The largest ‘Rock’ will be folded in Jupille on 10 May and will arrive in Ostend on 30 May. Each ‘Rock’ will be individually transported to Ostend, each on its own semi-trailer. The transport companies will collect the Rocks in Jupille the day before the delivery and will then transport them from Bruges to Ostend on the scheduled dates.
The transport on 3 May will set off in Bruges at about 6 am. We expect Arne Quinze and the first four Rocks to arrive in Ostend at the ‘Zeeheldenplein’ (Heroes of the Sea Square) at about 7 am.
It goes without saying that this transport will provide exceptional photos and movie footage! Feel free to contact us for additional information, an appointment or with any questions you might have. This can either be done by e-mail to veerle.dubois@oostende.be.
